Specimen Classification Standard

The Specimen Classification Standard (SCS) works on a two-part system. 2 factors classify specimens; their safety, and how hard it is to contain them.

For example, a specimen that is mostly safe to be around and easy to contain would be classified as Delta-Epsilon (γ-ε).

A high containment level does not necessarily mean that the specimen is dangerous. Likewise, a high safety level does not inherently mean the specimen is hard to contain.

Safety

Gamma (γ)

Gamma class specimens are completly safe, and pose no harm to health or life.
Get as close as you want.

Delta (Δ)

Delta class specimens can be considered mostly safe. It's recommended to leave it be, but they are not inherently dangerous.
Don't push its buttons.

Theta (Θ)

Theta class specimens pose a threat to humans.
Don't get near.

Kappa (κ)

Kappa class specimens are extremely aggressive or are generally hazardous to be around.
Stay away.

Omega (Ω)

Omega class specimens are a death sentence. Just being near it can result in an instant or near-instant death.
Get as far away as you can.

Containment

Epsilon (ε)

Epsilon class specimens require little to no special procedures/amenities to contain and will stay in their chamber.

Eta (η)

Eta class specimens are relatively easy to contain. For specimens that require eyes on it, or a unique but mostly simple chamber.

Omicron (O)

Omicron class specimens require especially unique methods of containment, as standard methods cannot hope to contain it. For specimens that may need especially unique accommodations or somewhat frequently try and break out.

Rho (ρ)

Rho class specimens will not only frequently try to break out, but also possess the means to do so, such as extreme strength or extranormal properties. Standard containment methods would be completly destroyed.

Tau (τ)

Tau class specimens cannot physically be contained, and are not permanently bound to any PFI division. While efforts can be made to hide it or keep it at bay, it cannot be held in a box forever.

Special Classes

Some specimens possess unique qualities not covered by the standard "Saftey-Containment" SCS system. These classes are addons, used if the specimen is truly unique enough to deserve one.

This class is its own section, and its effect on the format is as follows:

SPECIMEN NUMBER: 1
SCS CLASSIFICATION: Theta-Eta (Θ-η)
SPECIAL CLASS(ES): Yoter (⋙)

Some specimens may have more than one special class. For example, a cult group would have the special classes listed as Yoter, Psych (⋙, ☹).

Psi (Ψ)

Psi class specimens are useful assets to PFI. They range from a helping hand to a weapon unlike any other.

Mortem (⊗)

Mortem class specimens do not exist anymore, either by our own means or external causes.

Yoter (⋙)

Yoter class specimens are not a single specimen. This could apply to a hivemind, a species, or a group.

Psych (☹)

Psych class specimens have unique psychological effects. For specimens that are uniquely convincing, inflict hallucinations, or generally change the behaviors or perceptions of others.

Digi (⌘)

Digi class specimens are confined to computers or the internet.
